Village of colors: Guatapé - Colombia








Guatapé is a municipality in the department of Antioquia in Colombia, and it is a beautiful place full of colors, great landscapes and a lot of tranquility. It is close to a “ Embalse - El Peñol” and “El Peñol” stone which is a 220 meter monolith (like the Pão de Açúcar in Brazil), there are many activities and water sports to do but also the possibility of knowing the gastronomy and daily life of an antioqueño town. Every time i can i go to visit him, i walk through all its stone streets admiring the colorful houses, eat arepa with chorizo ​​and agua panela, and i sit in the square to talk. The weather is perfect, very spring (all year) so you will not feel cold or hot, people are the most special thing about this place, they are very kind and will be happy to visit you.

    Dear Adri, I do not know Colombia, but I feel very close to your country because of everything you tell us. I hope to visit Guatapé and know its colors, its landscapes, its people and its gastronomy. I hope to be there some day.

    Hi Adri, I definitely have to know Guatapé. I fell in love of its colors and beautiful landscape. I can imagine walking through those stone streets. So the next time you travel there, take me in the suitcase!!!

    Wow Adriana, what a beautiful place you show us! What a desire to know Guatapé. Is it far from Medellín? How can you go from Chile?

Post 1* Something about me

I´m from Colombia, i moved to Santigo to study a Phd in Psychology. I really like Santiago, is very nice and safe. There are many places to visit, the dessert is my favorite place until now, the landscape is so different to what i know.  In this year i´m learning all kinds of things, like new and different food such as crudo, curanto and porotos granados. The seasons are very interesting as the winter is really cold, see the snowy cordillera of the chilean Andes and the colors of leaves in the fall.  For  my birthday, in august , i would try going to Rapa Nui, is a dream go there to see the ancestral culture. My favorite food is the hamburger, I love the variety of flavors that you can generate by combining different ingredients, integrating as basic very good meat and fresh bread. I tried different types of hamburgers, however, I don´t like american cheese so I try to change it. Recently I tried Carl's Jr. hamburgers, and I loved them, good taste, fresh ingredients and good price, they combine a bit of fast food with gourmet style. I think the type of hamburger that I like the most should have juicy meat, soft and fluffy bread and mozzarella cheese but those of pork are winning  a place in my heart. In the University I usually bring homemade food, but this semester I have been very lazy so I ask for deliverys or as somewhere near the university, I prefer sushi, burritos, or microcafé lunches.
